I am Donald Silberger, Associate Professor of Mathematics at SUNY in New Paltz. On 24 April the Libertarian Party of New York chose me to be its candidate for the United States Senate. You may wonder why someone should run for an office that he knows he has little likelihood of winning on November 2. Indeed, I am not planning a campaign in name only. I intend to work seriously to win the minds and the hearts of my fellow citizens in New York State. I will travel the state for three months, speak to whatever audiences I find. I will answer questions and listen. You may continue to wonder: What is the point of this unprofitable activity? Yes, I may well lose this election. But You can place your name in the column that represents limited government, lower taxes, opposition to endless wars, foreign and domestic. You can help send a signal to both major parties: You can express yourself and help your children's future by voting for me. I am a referendum in the flesh. Your voice, speaking loudly from the privacy of the voting booth, can lend force to the libertarian challenge which I am mounting. Why waste your vote on a sure winner, or on some hack, when instead you could Demand an end to the drug war and all of the government's wars on our people by voting for me: Donald Silberger New York Libertarian for the United States Senate |
